Upon receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Ball State, Deanna Whetstone returned to the Indianapolis area and launched Whetstone & Associates in 1996. Tucked in to a store front in the small town of Brownsburg, the design firm offers space for clients to explore product samples while also allowing ample space for a showroom filled with accessories.

With over twenty years of diverse experience to draw from, Deanna’s professional accomplishments are many. A brief overview includes multiple projects with the Decorators’ Show House, Home-A-Rama, Dream Home, and most recently named a regional winner in “Design for a Difference”, an International Design Guild contest. Deanna’s focus remains largely in residential projects in some of Indianapolis’ most prestigious neighborhoods. While clients generally seek her out for new construction design, updating and transformation projects of existing and historical properties are also gaining favor.

Deanna takes a client driven approach to interior design. When first meeting with a client, she seeks to learn their needs in addition to their vision of the space. “I want the space to be inspired” explains Deanna. With a goal of every project being unique, she interprets the grand dreams of her clients and turns them in to a reality. These spaces evolve to be a well designed part of the home, while also serving as a reflection of the residents.

Today the Whetstone & Associates client base reaches across the country. As clients purchase vacation homes or eventually relocate for work, they continue to turn to the firm to design their personal spaces. The continued referrals and repeat business from clients serves as a testament to Deanna’s ability to offer creative solutions, a current design vision and the ability to work within space parameters.
